Also the Crab and Winkle very good modern fish restaurant above the fish market in the harbour. 01227 779 377 Wheelers Oyster Bar is the oldest restaurant in town.8 the high street. 01227 273 311 Shangri-La is a surprisingly good Thai with a lovely garden at 102 the high street. 01227 265 800 Pearsons Crab and Oyster House, (the Horsebridge) 01227 272 005 is meant to be very good, right by the Oyster Fishery Just close by in Seasalter is a very good pub for dinner and lunch, but you need to book – very popular, the Sportsman Pub 01227 273370 Hotel Continental, 29 Beach Walk, Whitstable 01227 280 289 at the other end of the beach, a nice stroll, for lunch or dinner, faces the sea Duke of Cumberland, High St 01227 280 617 good for fish and chips and has a garden for kids The Tapas restaurant is good, also above the Oyster restaurant on the beach, there is a vast hall where they serve sandwiches and juices. There are numerous delis, the best being Williams and Browns Spanish deli, opposite the tapas on Harbour street and Olivias, which is nearer to our end. There is of course, our local corner shop, Windy Corner, which sells organic produce and some fresh deli items. Note that sat is sometimes early closing, weds half day opening and some shops do not open on Mondays. (Quite old fashioned in its ways) There is a great butcher on the high street, Theobalds, great for sausages and steak . There is also a health food shop, Herbaceous, which you can get soya, rice milk etc.. not forgetting the fish market in the harbour, a 10 min walk along the beach will get you there. |
